Download YouTube Videos on iPhone
Safari and in-app browsers on iPhone often cannot save video files like desktop browsers. We recommend Documents’ built-in browser with VidPS; after parsing, use one of the methods below to save MP4 or MP3.
Copy the YouTube video link
Open the video in the YouTube app or Safari, tap Share and copy the link, or copy the full URL from the address bar.
Parse with VidPS
Open the VidPS YouTube downloader in your browser and paste the link. A full URL pasted into the box starts parsing automatically; if nothing happens, tap Parse. Within seconds you will see MP4, MP3, and other download options.
Method 1: Documents (recommended)
Install the free Documents by Readdle from the App Store. Open its built-in browser, visit VidPS, parse the video, then tap Download — files land in Documents’ Downloads or Files area. To add to Photos, open the file in Documents, tap Share → Save Video.
Method 2: Safari or Chrome (fallback)
You can also use Safari or Chrome to open VidPS and parse. Note: Chrome on iPhone uses the same engine as Safari, so downloads behave similarly — not like Android Chrome with a system save sheet. If tapping Download only opens a preview, long-press the video and choose Save to Files, then check the Files app.
Method 3: Download on desktop, then AirDrop
If mobile download is awkward, use VidPS on a computer, save the MP4, then AirDrop or sync to your iPhone via iCloud or a cable.
Tips
- If you open VidPS inside WeChat, use “Open in Safari” from the menu for better parsing success.
- MP3 requires server conversion — wait patiently; if it stalls, try MP4 or switch to Documents.
- If a file won’t play, confirm the extension is .mp4 or .mp3 and rename in the Files app if needed.
- Only save public videos you are allowed to keep and follow YouTube’s Terms of Service.
